Install Windows 10 on J4005N
I bought a J4005N for one simple purpose. To run Handbrake. This is probably one of the cheapest logic boards out there that supports HEVC. To make all of this better, you can make this computer use less than 5W of power while doing so. The only downside is that you cannot install Windows 10 on it out of the box.
In order to install Windows 10, you will need to download some drivers, change the ISO and create a bootable installer. Easy!
First, visit Gigabyte’s website and download all available drivers for the J4005N. Once you’ve downloaded them, unzip them and place them together in a folder on your desktop.
Next, download your Windows ISO from Microsoft’s website. Once you’ve done that, make sure you mount the ISO and copy the contents of the ISO to a folder (separate from the drivers) on your desktop.
Once that is done, the fun begins. In order to be able to install Windows 10 on the J4005N, we will need to add the drivers from Gigabyte’s website to the Windows installer. In order to do so, we need to edit the ISO and for that we will use an application called NTLite. Simply visit their website to download the app. Once the app is downloaded and installed, we can start editing the ISO file.
