AirPlay on iPod Hi-Fi

The iPod HiFi was introduced in 2006 and discontinued a mere 18 months later.
The iPod HiFi came with a 30-pin dock connector, TOSLINK optical connector or headphone jack. It has been praised for its big rich sound and battery options. Recently an ultra-rare black iPod Hifi has surfaced (source).

Despite the original retail price of €379, they hold their value very well. At the time of writing they will retail for ± €250 on second hand websites.

Still sounding great and a beautiful asset in any home, the iPod HiFi is still a force to be reconned with, that is if it only had some wireless connection so that it could be used with newer devices. That’s where Poolside Factory comes in. They created a Raspberry Pi to iPod HiFi 30-pin-dock Adapter for Airplay Audio Streaming (link) and it works beautifully.
